Spring Equinox & New Years Intentions
"I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept."

TGI20201 (Thank Goodness its 2021!)
So I know that it’s March but can I take it back a few weeks and say that I just LOVE New Years! I know many people look at New Years as a time to turn up but for me it has always been something very different. It is a start at new, or even some old goals, with a fresh perspective.
Spring Equinox Baby!
So you might be wondering…WTF is Spring Equinox and why should it matter to me? Spring Equinox is the first day of the astrological new year! It’s a time when the sun enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, which signifies the start of a new zodiac cycle. Essentially its like a New Years redo and a time to reset your goals if you need to.
In true southern fashion I take the time leading up to the Spring Equinox to deep clean my house, get rid of clutter and sage my home to clear any stale energy & vibes. After I have cleaned my home, and reset the energy, I then turn to mediation, stillness and journaling to help me get clear on what I am feeling called to do in the new year. I know many of my fellow sisters have tried new years resolutions in their lifetime with varied success. In 2021, I ask that you give me the opportunity to introduce a new concept for you to apply. I ask for you to consider making new years intentions (thank me later).
WTF Are Intentions?
I like how Stacy Couch from WildGraditude.com defines intentions from a spiritual perspective. “In our spiritual work, we so often utilize the words “intention” and “intent”. We set an intent for what we’d like to heal. We carry an intention for something in our lives to change. We decide what we’d like to manifest (such as a new job or a new house) and set an intent around that.”
If you have already created new years resolutions for 2021 think about pivoting to an intention mindset. Define what you would like to manifest, why you want to manifest it (check yourself for limiting beliefs) and develop an action plan to help you in achieving your intentions.
Not sure where to start? No worries, I got you! I have added some ideas below to help you along in your new years intention setting journey.
Create a vision board & place it across your bed so that it is the 1st thing you see in the morning and when you go to sleep. Tip: Sage before you begin to make you vision board. No time for low vibrations when you are working to co-create your beautiful future.
Free write! At the top of a sheet of paper write 2021 goals and then begin to free write whatever comes to mind. Continue this process until you have narrowed down what you most like to accomplish. Tip: Visit this list every 2-3 days to remind you of your goals and ensure that you are working in alignment to what you are manifesting.
If you are having a hard time narrowing down your intentions detox & unplug (check out my podcast for more info ). Sometime distractions, fears and anxiety block our connection to our purpose. If you feel blocked it’s a tell tell sign that you need to unplug. Tip: Unfollow anyone on social media that causes you to feel fear, guilt or jealousy and begin to follow people that make you feel inspired, aligned and hopeful.
Try these ideas out and continue to work on your dreams because they are worthy and possible. There are no rewards in life for playing small.
